Mail is a good thing

current mood: sleepy

First, snail mail. I must share a photo of this jigsaw puzzle codyfrizbeejr sent to The Compound. There are some ardent LOTR fans--oh, who are we kidding? There are some ardent Viggo Mortensen and Orlando Bloom fans on my Flist. I'll be thinking of y'all when I'm trying to find pieces of their faces, and I'll post a photo when Tim and Tom I finish putting it together.

The puzzle tin is resting atop a stack of editor copies of The Book With The Longest Waiting Period Ever: Fool For Love: New Gay Fiction. I am SO THRILLED that people are finally getting to read this collection. It's been torment not blurting out details of the stories. Most of the work I've been involved with is about a year from acceptance to publication. But this collection was first conceived, and stories were sought, in early 2006. Three years! Elephants have given birth in less time!

I'm very grateful that after Haworth was sold, Cleis was willing to publish the anthology, because if you want to read romance, here are some heartwarming, funny, bittersweet, hopeful, wistful, and sad tales. I know in this case it's okay that I speak for Tim, too, when I say that no editors could be prouder of a group of writers for all their unique and talented voices. BUY THIS BOOK. You won't be sorry.

Next topic: Reader mail. But that'll have to wait until after I sleep. And you'll also get pictures of things happening at The Compound. Don't tell me I don't give you reasons to refresh your Friends page over and over. Or--am I the only one who does that?
